I'm finally getting around to sharing the photos from Rhys' newborn shoot! We've never done newborn photos before, so it was a whole new experience for us, but I'm so glad we did it. I found a photographer in Raleigh who has been doing newborn photos for 14 years (MichelleStudios), and I was so impressed by the way she handled Rhys. She really has a magic touch. The weather was perfect to get a lot of shots outside in her "fairy garden." I couldn't believe how well Rhys slept through all the moving and positioning. We did the shoot when he was 10 days old - still in the sleepy phase - but still! My mom was in town, helping us with Rhys, so she came along, and Kevin stayed home with Ian.
After the outdoor shots, we moved to her indoor newborn studio (she has a special studio for newborns that's separate from her main studio to help the little ones avoid germs). She kept it super hot in there to help Rhys stay asleep (my mom fell asleep too, but I don't think she'd want me to share that picture). Anyway, I just love all the photos we got, and I know we'll treasure them. We had some photos done at the hospital as well, and I'm glad to have shots from when he was two days old, but the difference in quality is huge. I'll share some of the hospital ones some other time.
Oh! And of course I can't decide which ones to print and hang up, so tell me in the comments - which would you pick?
